Our commitment
Azwaj (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is an Islamic matrimony platform that helps practising Muslim adults find a spouse. Protecting children is a responsibility we take with the utmost seriousness.
We strictly prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation on our platform. This standard applies to every user, everywhere, without exception. It aligns with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and with our obligations under applicable law.
What is strictly prohibited
The following are never permitted on Azwaj, and any account involved will be removed and reported to the relevant authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form: images, video, text, drawings, or links.
- Grooming, solicitation, or any sexualisation of a minor.
- Use of the service by anyone under 18, or on behalf of a minor.
- Child trafficking, forced or underage marriage, or any endangerment of a child.
- Sharing or requesting sexual content involving a minor.
How we keep children off the platform
Azwaj is designed, from the ground up, as an adults-only service for marriage, never a casual or dating environment:
- Adults only (18+). Users must be 18 or older to register. Accounts identified as belonging to a minor are removed.
- Identity verification. A live selfie check helps confirm real, adult people behind profiles.
- No open chat. There is no free-form messaging; users connect with marriage intent only, which limits avenues for grooming.
- Privacy by default. Photos stay private until the owner grants access, reducing exposure and misuse.
- Moderation. Reported profiles and content are reviewed by our team, and violating accounts are removed.
How to report a concern
If you encounter any content or behaviour that may involve the abuse or exploitation of a child, please report it immediately. We act on every report.

Every profile has a Report and a Block option, always one tap away. Use “Report” to flag child-safety concerns to our team directly from within Azwaj.

How we respond to reports
When we receive a report or otherwise become aware of possible CSAE, we:
- Review the report promptly and prioritise child-safety cases.
- Remove violating content and permanently ban the account(s) involved.
- Preserve relevant evidence as required to assist investigations.
- Report to the appropriate authorities and child-safety organisations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and cooperate with law enforcement.
Legal compliance
Azwaj complies with all relevant child-safety laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, and reports child sexual abuse and exploitation to the relevant regional and national authorities. In India this includes reporting through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and to local law enforcement; internationally, we report to NCMEC and cooperate with the appropriate authorities.
We keep these standards under regular review to ensure they remain effective and up to date.
