About Azwaj
Marriage is half of our faith. So why did searching for a spouse feel so unlike it? That question is where Azwaj began.
Most matrimony apps borrow their design from dating apps: public photos, endless swiping, open chats with strangers. Azwaj flips that.
- A sister's photos are private by default and unlock only when she approves the request. A brother can lock his the same way.
- There is no open chat. Connection requests keep first contact respectful.
- Families and walis are part of the process from the appropriate stage, not an afterthought.
- There is no caste-based filtering, because compatibility in deen and character comes first.
Azwaj, from the Qur'anic word for "pairs", was founded by Mirza Shoaib Zaki Baig and is built for practising Muslims who want to do this properly: seriously, respectfully, and with tawakkul.
